Teaching

Jack is a versatile teacher with 10 years of experience. He believes in meeting a student where they are and providing a breadth of tools to aid musicality. He focuses on technique, repertoire and ear training, and uses repertoire to explore more theoretical concepts such as harmony and voice leading. The student’s connection with music is very important to Jack, and he tries to instil a sense of enjoyment and curiosity throughout.

Jack has experience with both jazz and classical piano grades, although he is also happy to work more intuitively outside those frameworks.

He does teach at home but is also happy to travel to students (within reason) for an extra fee.
